Together, my husband Lucas and I have two precious little boys: Micah and Owen who are just a year and two days apart. With our boys so close in age, our home is always lively and busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Adding to our lively household are our dogs, Khloe and Gus.

When I am not chasing around my boys, I enjoy reading a good book, catching up with friends at coffee shops, playing board games, and traveling. My perfect evening would include sitting around a campfire with family and friends. 

My journey in education began long ago, watching my mom work at an elementary school. As I spent many hours at her school, my love for education grew. In college, I attended Dakota State University where I majored in Elementary Education. After graduating I taught in Maryland, before returning back to where I grew up here in South Dakota. I have a passion for teaching, especially in the realm of reading. One of my favorite things is hearing my students get excited about the books they are reading.
